Who We Are
Magic Valley Suicide Awareness & Prevention (MVSAP) was formed in 2019 after Idaho's Suicide Prevention Action Network (SPAN) closed its doors. Idaho consistently ranks among the highest for suicide rates in the nation. MVSAP emphasizes education and community involvement in the fight to change that trend in Idaho's Magic Valley area.
Mission Statement
To promote awareness and prevention of suicide and to support those who have been affected by it.
Vision Statement
To reduce suicide by increasing community support and decreasing stigma.
Goals
To educate the public about options, resources, facts and statistics of suicide and mental illness.
To partner with schools within the Magic Valley to provide an anonymous reporting method.
To partner with schools to provide programs to strengthen suicide awareness and prevention.
Partnerships with community organizations with common goal of reducing suicide.
To create a support program for those who have lost someone by suicide.
